About the webinar

Teaching is an expert profession, yet professional growth is too often framed narrowly around leadership pathways or short-term initiatives. Join Joanne Robinson as she explores why developing expertise matters - not only for improving classroom practice, but for helping teachers feel competent, curious, and professionally fulfilled through sustained professional learning over time.
Join Joanne Robinson and Stephanie Hobler as they discuss how teachers can develop and sustain professional expertise in a demanding and evolving profession.
  • Why teaching should be recognised and supported as an expert profession
  • How sustained professional learning contributes to confidence, curiosity, and long-term impact in the classroom
  • Different pathways to developing expertise, including engagement with professional bodies, postgraduate study such as Master’s and PhD programmes, and subject or pedagogical specialisation
  • Practical ways teachers can take ownership of their professional growth, regardless of role or career stage
